The problem: The freezer was running, but ice cream was soft and frozen food was starting to thaw.
The fix: We found a torn door gasket letting warm air in. We replaced the seal and checked the freezer was holding temperature before we left.
The problem: The fresh-food section of a built-in Sub-Zero was warm, while the freezer still felt cold.
The fix: The evaporator coil was buried in ice because the defrost heater had failed. We replaced the heater, cleared the ice and confirmed normal cooling.
The problem: Water was pooling on the kitchen floor and the ice maker had stopped making ice.
The fix: The ice maker fill tube had frozen solid, so water overflowed. We thawed the line, replaced the fill tube heater and tested a full ice cycle.
